In this winery, Kripta was born, one of the most important sparkling wines in the world. All the wine that comes from Agustí Torelló is grown organically, and the harvest is done by hand; furthermore, the entire winemaking process takes place on the property. They use native varieties to make their wines, namely: Macabeo, Xarello, Parellada, and for the rosé, Trepat. And a final detail, it is said that they have the only single-varietal Macabeo cava fermented in barrel.
A total of 150 unique plots, all cultivated organically and hand-harvested, are the source of all our wines and blends vinified 100% on the property.
We produce with native varieties: MACABEO, XAREL.LO, PARELLADA, and TREPAT for the rosé. In each harvest, we select the best yeasts of each variety through microbiological cultivation. This way, our wines ferment each year with indigenous yeasts, closing the unique circle of the original vineyards.
Mountain viticulture: The UBAC estate in Mediona, at an altitude of 550 meters, is the cradle of our Parellada and Trepat grapes, which give a distinct and unique character to our blends: the thermal exchange between night and day and the particular slate soil contributes an exceptional mineral character.
Masters of Macabeo. Creators of the only single-varietal Macabeo cava fermented in barrel. The Macabeo variety is always dominant in AGUSTI TORELLO MATA blends.
Long bottle aging: Only Reservas with a minimum aging of 24 months, and Grandes Reservas with aging from 3 to 10 years.
