Can Llopart de les Alzines is a property located in Espiells, El Penedès, Barcelona, with historical roots dating back to 1499. It is encircled by the vineyards that are the source of their grapes and was the chosen location for the construction of the Vins El Cep winery. The Carreras, Esteve, Masana, and Parera families had previously established connections, extending beyond mere neighborly and friendly relations.
Each of these families possessed a centuries-long background in agriculture and the traditional art of winemaking at their rural estates.
In 1980, they initiated a joint project to create wines and cavas that could authentically represent the character of their respective terroirs. To this day, these terroirs are cultivated in adherence to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, where the land, plants, animals, and people collaborate harmoniously to enhance and preserve the natural balance of the ecosystem.
