Cenicero is a Spanish municipality located in the autonomous region of La Rioja, in northern Spain. It is located in the district of Haro, at an altitude of 447 metres above sea level and has a population of around 3,800 inhabitants.
Cenicero is known for its wine production, as it is located in the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin area. In addition, the town has a number of wineries and wine cooperatives that offer guided tours and wine tastings for tourists.
As for its cultural heritage, Cenicero has the church of San Pedro, which dates from the 16th century and stands out for its Baroque tower and main altarpiece. Also of interest is the Virgen de la Vega hermitage, located in a natural setting on the outskirts of the town.
Cenicero is also a good starting point for excursions to other places of interest in the region of Haro, such as the city of Haro, Briones or the route of the Monasteries of La Rioja.
In addition, the town celebrates various festivals and events throughout the year, such as the Grape Harvest Festival in September and the Wine Fair in November.
