Alcázar de San Juan is a town located in the province of Ciudad Real, in the autonomous region of Castilla-La Mancha. It has a population of around 30,000 inhabitants, so it is not a very small town.
As far as important cultural sites are concerned, its historical and artistic heritage stands out, with monuments such as the Torre del Homenaje, the church of Santa Quiteria, the Convent of Santa Clara and the Plaza de Santa María. The town is also home to the Casa del Hidalgo Museum, which houses an interesting collection of objects related to local culture and history.
As for gastronomy, some typical dishes of the area are roast lamb, migas manchegas, porridge, ratatouille, Manchego cheese and wines from the La Mancha DO. Some recommended restaurants to try the typical food of the area are Casa Pepe, Casa Elena and La Senda.
