WINERY PRESENTATION
The journey began in 1998 when the winemaker Sven Bruchfeld, along with his friend and university colleague Gonzalo Muñoz, dreamed of future projects to undertake together. At that time, Gonzalo was studying in Spain while Sven was working during the harvests in various wine regions around the world. They crossed paths near Narbonne in the south of France. A tasting of Mediterranean-style Syrah at a local winery, accompanied by a delicious mint lamb, would determine that this grape variety should be the foundation of their future wine.
Upon returning to Chile, they set out to find the most suitable location to develop a vineyard that would maximize the quality of the grapes and, consequently, the wine they envisioned.
In 2002, they found the place they had longed for: an abandoned property in Marchigüe, located at the western end of the Colchagua Valley. This site met the soil and climate requirements needed to realize their dream and was particularly well-suited to the type of wine they wanted to produce.
Thus, they planted 12 hectares on the POLKURA hill, with the first harvest taking place in 2004.
