PRESENTATION OF THE WINERY
With a presence in more than 100 countries, the family winery Miguel Torres Chile has established itself over the last 30 years as one of the leading producers of quality wines through the identity of its products, its respect for the environment and its social responsibility.
HISTORY OF THE WINERY
As early as 1733, the Jesuits certified that northern Chile was a great producer of brandy thanks to its dry and sunny climate. In 1889, at the Universal Exposition in Paris, Chilean piscos were presented for the first time at the international level and the Chilean government obtained the denomination of origin and exclusivity of Pisco production in 1931.
In 1928 in Penedès, Spain, Juan Torres Casals began distilling his wines to make brandy. 84 years later Miguel Torres Chile produced the winery's first Pisco, in the Limarí Valley, IV region, where the Moscatel Rosada and Moscatel de Alejandría grape varieties are harvested, perfect for flavoring “El Gobernador”, the name given to our Pisco Reservado.
