Moratalla is located in the Region of Murcia and is a place of great natural wealth, ideal for lovers of hiking and nature. One of the most popular hiking routes is the Ruta del Agua (Water Route), which runs along the Benamor river and offers spectacular views. Another option is to visit the Sierra Espuña Nature Reserve, located some 40 kilometres from Moratalla, where you can go hiking and enjoy the area's flora and fauna.
As for gastronomy, in Moratalla you can try typical dishes such as rice with rabbit and snails, Murcian stew, gazpacho or Moratalla nougat. It is also advisable to try the local sausages, such as chorizo and salchichón. To drink, the area produces good wines under the Bullas Designation of Origin.
