When the waters of the Duero River leave Valladolid, they enter another province, Zamora, historically known for its Romanesque art and its outstanding winemaking.
The Tierra del Vino region is located within the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León (Spain), specifically in the southeast of Zamora Province.
It encompasses both banks of the Duero River, Spain's quintessential wine river, and is traversed from north to south by the Roman Vía de la Plata (Southern Way of Saint James).
With a total area of 1,799 square kilometers, it includes a total of 56 municipalities, of which 46 belong to the province of Zamora and 10 are located in the lands of Salamanca.
These are deep soils, poor in organic matter, very permeable and with good water retention capacity. Therefore, the grapes of Villamor de los Escuderos, where the new Bodegas Señorio de Bocos produces its other white Verdejo, rosé, and red wines, do not suffer from thirst.
It is important to note that Tierra del Vino de Zamora is a Designation of Origin with a specific and independent geographical delimitation, with its own identity in its regulations.
