WINEMAKING
"Raising a wine is an art that we in Portugal have perfected over centuries, today strengthened by greater knowledge and better means.
A good wine is rarely the result of chance. The experience I have gained over time as a winemaker leads me to believe that a wine reflects the nature of the land where it was born and is the expression of those who produce it.
Knowledge, experience, and technology allow us to rigorously refine the various factors that influence the personality of a wine. Bringing out the full natural potential of our country in this field, creating and reinventing each wine, is a passion for me. It is this passion that I have the pleasure of presenting here and sharing with you in every wine I make."

Monitoring the Vineyards Throughout the Year
We manage 600 hectares of vineyards, both owned and leased. The viticulture department of each region where we operate is responsible for the vineyard throughout its entire cycle, covering the search for distinctive plots, variety selection, pruning, and phytosanitary care. As the harvest approaches, the winemakers and viticulture managers set the start date, basing this decision on the random collection of grape samples from the field and the corresponding physical-chemical analyses.
Harvest
The most anticipated time of the year. In the four different regions where we are present, we choose to harvest only in the early hours of the day to keep the grapes fresh. The vast majority of the grapes are harvested by hand in small 15 kg boxes, going through an initial selection: bunches that are not in perfect condition are not harvested. Typically, the group's harvest cycle begins in Alentejo in early August and ends in the Douro by mid-October.*
