Centennial wines.J. Bouchón winery is in the wine region area of Valle del Maule
DESCRIPTION OF THE WINERY
Our winery is a simple and noble construction of adobe walls and clay floor, dating from the early twentieth century. Depending on the characteristics and styles of our Chilean wines, aging is done in 225-liter French oak barrels, 2,500-liter French oak foudres and 700-liter clay amphorae.
We also have 18,500-liter epoxied cement vats, which allow us to vinify our best red grapes separately. To work segmentally, our stainless steel tanks have capacities ranging from 1,200 liters.
INOS DE ALTURA
The Aconcagua Valley is located in central Chile, 68 km northeast of the city of Santiago. It is considered one of the few terroirs in the world capable of producing wines of the highest quality. In Situ Family Vineyards is located in the eastern sector of the valley, at the foot of the Andes Mountains and following the banks of the Aconcagua River.
Our winery is located in the commune of San Esteban, at 870 meters above sea level, and its vineyards are planted on the slopes of Cerro Paidahuén and reach up to 940 meters above sea level. In these conditions, the hot summer days favor the maturation of tannins and the accumulation of sugars, while the cool breeze that descends from the mountain at night allows the aromatic expression of the grapes, giving a unique seal to our wines.
Sustainable Farming
In Situ wines are committed to minimizing environmental impact, both for the community and the environment. We practice sustainable cultivation in the vineyards and use environmentally friendly technology in both wine production and waste treatment.
In agricultural work, these practices include: inter-row cultivation of vines; use of guano and compost, as well as biodegradable tie-down straps to bind shoots or vine loaders.
