The Estancia is part of a vineyard estate, with a variety of Torrontés in vines, Malbec and Reserva Malbec.Río de Arena winery is in the wine region area of Tucumán
Behind, we find the Santa Maria River, a real sand river, which unlike the rivers of South America, runs zigzagging from south to north, all framed by majestic hills in its vicinity. It is an oasis in the middle of the sand river that runs with the wind in that part of Tucumán's geography. A wonderful place to rest, enjoy and drink a good wine accompanied by the typical cuisine of the North.
In 2002, Roberto Carro, a dreamer inspired by his desire to install something in the valley, bought these 30 hectares with some vineyards: 2 and a half hectares already planted with vineyards of Torrontés variety in a parral system; with a water well. He planted 4 hectares of Malbec with a trellis system and installed a drip irrigation system. The fact that he has his own well does not allow him to waste water because in this area nothing grows without water and with water, everything grows. There are 6 and a half hectares of crops that generate 22,500 bottles that pass through tanks and oak barrels.
In this area the thermal amplitude favors, very warm during the day, which accelerates the ripening process of the grapes, and very cold at night, which stops this process. This is precisely the necessary condition for the vineyards to produce grapes that are enhanced to make good wines. This radiant sun that shines from eight in the morning until seven or eight at night, together with our sandy soils, gives us a very warm climate.
