**What is ARTCAVA?**

Artcava is located in the town of Avinyonet del Penedès, within the province of Barcelona. The Penedès D.O. (Denomination of Origin) certifies the wines from this winery.

We steer clear of the classic, almost Baroque, mass tourism that has been prevalent until now (don’t tell anyone we say these things). The three partners in the project—two young entrepreneurs in our thirties named Èric and Ignasi, who revamped the winery, and a third, "Gran Reserva," Ramon, our foodie and guide—have adopted a "slow travel" philosophy in our activities. If you visit us, you’ll meet a young, enthusiastic team that is passionate about our work. It's always us who run the tours and workshops, and if you decide to join us, we guarantee you'll leave with a hangover, a full belly if you dine here, and perhaps even a new friendship.

We produce 15,000 bottles of artisanal Cava a year, with nothing added, completely natural, no tricks.

**How did it start?**

Artcava is a project that began in 2004, rebuilding a family winery belonging to one of the partners, Ignasi. We know that his family had been cultivating vineyards and making wines since 1730.

**Artcava Today**

At Artcava, there's no rush: time is relative if the experience is worth it. We know when our workshops start, but we never know exactly how or when they will end. Wine has been made right where we stand for 2,500 years, and for that reason alone, time deserves a tribute.

You’ll find activities and dull winery tours elsewhere for much less money than at Artcava. But the experiences we offer are real: we stay grounded and have ten years of experience to back us up.

Just as Catalans are convinced that Catalunya is not Spain, we also like to say that Artcava is more than just another winery…
