One of the most iconic wineries in the region.Adega Casa da Torre winery is in the wine region area of Los vinos verdes
The Casa da Torre winemaking project began in 1977 with the purchase of the property by Manuel Artur de Sousa Lopes.
In the early 1980s, work started to prepare for the planting of 5 hectares of vineyards and the restoration of the existing winery. At that time, the winery consisted of a single building, 9 meters wide and 18 meters long, and winemaking practices, which were standard given the size of the production, were minimally mechanized. The wine produced there was destined for the local market, where most sales were made directly at the winery.
By the late 1990s, specifically in 1997, a project led by Gonçalo de Sousa Lopes, Manuel's son, was undertaken. Aiming to increase production, the winery began managing three family properties totaling 21 hectares of vineyards—Quinta da Casa da Torre, Quinta do Cruzeiro, and Quinta da Senra.
