Two wine routes, La Mancha and Valdepeñas, cross the province of Ciudad Real, with 15 wineries and 6 towns involved. Among these, Valdepeñas is the most interesting destination, with four wineries to its credit, and whose grape harvest festivals are worth visiting. In this area, there are wines with the denomination of origin of Valdepeñas, with half of the vineyard dedicated to the white Airén grape, and the other half to the red tempranillo, which in this area is called Tinto Fino. Here, in Ciudad Real, the National Wine Fair, known as FENAVIN, is held. But they also have the Pandorga, a festival declared of regional tourist interest, attended every year by more than fifty thousand people, where they prepare zurra, a drink made from wine, lemon juice and fruit. This is one of the most popular festivities in Spain and is part of its popular heritage, since this celebration dates back several centuries.
