Meis is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, located in the Salnés region. It has a population of around 10,000 inhabitants and its territory is surrounded by the river Umia and the river Barrantes.
Meis is known for its Albariño wine production, as it is in the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin, one of the most renowned in Spain. Besides visiting the wineries and tasting the wine, in Meis you can also find places of interest such as the church of San Martiño de Meis, the clock tower of San Lorenzo de Carreira and the Monastery of Armenteira. There are also several hiking routes that pass through the area, such as the Water Route and the Stone and Water Route.
