WINERY PRESENTATION

Lomas de Llahuén is a family-owned winery that was established in 1986 by brothers Francisco and Gustavo Riffo, in response to the unemployment of the time and the scarce job opportunities in the area. Their beginnings were not easy, as they had no working capital, land, or production, only a business idea and a strong determination to overcome adversity and succeed in their own land.

Today, with over 35 years of history in winemaking and the cultivation of heritage varieties from the Itata Valley, they have become pioneers in the development of enotourism in the region. They have dedicated more than 10 years to meeting the needs of tourists and are also focused on positioning the Itata Valley as the birthplace of viticulture in Chile, always maintaining a commitment to environmental care and being eco-friendly. The grape varieties they cultivate and vinify include: País, Moscatel de Alejandría, Cinsault, Garnacha, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
