The Itata Valley holds the history of Chilean viticulture in its vineyards. Its winemaking tradition dates back over 500 years to when the Spanish introduced vines from Peru to Concepción, making this region the birthplace of Chilean viticulture, where you can still find small plots with bush vines scattered among the pine trees.
THE VINEYARD
Our vineyards, featuring rustic varieties such as Moscatel of Alexandria, País, and Cinsault, have adapted perfectly to the local conditions.
WINEMAKING
Today, Viña Castellón is preserving this cultural heritage by maintaining the unique characteristics of the region in its wine production, which is carried out in wooden vats and earthenware vessels, just as it was in the past.
