The Marco Abella family has a winemaking tradition of more than five centuries in the village of Porrera, in the heart of Priorat.

**THE FAMILY**
The Marco family, winemakers since the 15th century in Porrera (Priorat), emigrated to Barcelona in the 19th century. A century later, Olivia Bayés and David Marco decided to return to their roots by building a modern winery and recovering the family vineyards. No one better than David's parents, both poets, could express the passion that drove them to make unique wines.
Family as a primary value, committed to a distinguished land to which it owes its prestigious wines – this is our philosophy.
**THE WINERY**
The winery is located at the entrance of one of the seven estates of Marco Abella, about seven hundred meters from the village of Porrera, and was built in 2005. It spans 1,500 square meters over three floors, blending traditional practices with modern facilities.
Two of the floors are underground. This design allows the use of gravity at each stage of the wine production process, naturally achieving the necessary temperature and humidity levels for the proper aging and preservation of the wines.
The grapes from different areas of each estate ferment in separate tanks. The tanks include 8,000-liter concrete, 5,000, 2,000, and 1,000-liter stainless steel, and 2,500-liter French oak.
The wines age in 225, 300, and 500-liter French oak barrels located on the third floor of the winery, seven meters below ground. (1)
