The desire to create a wine project of reference in organic wines brought together childhood friends Carlos Flor and Ricardo Lopes Ferro, both heirs to the lands of Biaia (XVII century), with the winemaker Luís Leocádio allowing the realization of a dream, common to three. The project was joined by Horácio Nunes, an indispensable figure for his taste for oenology and viticulture in the region. Quinta da Biaia is located between the Serra da Marofa and the historic village of Castelo Rodrigo, on these slopes are our vineyards. On the other hand, it constitutes a natural barrier that protects it from sea winds, enhancing the desired thermal amplitudes that give rise to wines strongly influenced by the altitude and the harsh climate (cold, thermal amplitudes, low rainfall, high sunshine). Organic production, its terroir steeped in history, as well as the setting of the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers, give a unique profile to the wines of this property.
