PRESENTATION OF THE WINERY
Casar de Vide is located in Castrelo de Miño, in the province of Orense. The D.O. Ribeiro certifies the wines from this winery.
"Casar de Vide is situated in the municipality of Castrelo de Miño, just a few meters from the river itself. It is a place of immense beauty, where the vineyards contour the land with their elegant shapes. The left bank of the Miño River is one of the most fertile areas within the D.O. Ribeiro.
The name of our winery, meaning 'House of the Vineyard,' is derived from the term 'Casar,' which refers to traditional Galician homes, and 'Vide,' which indicates its location in the municipality of Vide, known for its historical grape cultivation. The winery is located in the heart of the D.O. Ribeiro, the oldest denomination of origin in Galicia, making it one of the leading wine producers in the region, where excellence and quality are essential marks of identity, both in production methods and in the highly regarded wines.
The winery occupies 2,200 square meters and was built in 1988 using granite stone from local quarries, alongside the historical house founded in 1957. Casar de Vide has skillfully blended modernity, technology, and innovation with the classical character of a land with unique potential. It features a grape reception and processing area, fermentation and storage spaces, a bottling and filtration room, a storage area, and a space for visits and tastings."
