PRESENTATION OF THE WINERY

iña Apaltagua began its history in 1995, when the successful American businessman Edward Tutunjian was on vacation in Chile, and fell in love with the country and its amazing wines. It was at that moment that he decided to invest and acquired his first vineyard called “La Pancora”, located in the VII Region, in the prestigious Curicó Valley.

Later, in order to increase both the planted area and the availability of more wine grape varieties, he acquired a second property in the area called “Huaquén”, located in the town of Curepto, an area of the Maule Valley, known for the excellence of its grapes.

This site was selected for its climatic conditions, dominated by a great difference in temperature between day and night. The Apaltagua Vineyards and Winery is then acquired, whose facilities are located in the Apalta Valley in Colchagua, in the VI Region of the country, which is characterized by its excellent conditions for the development of wine grapes.

Then land was acquired in Pirque, in the Maipo Valley, where the old Hacienda de San Juan de Pirque reserve and the winery's guest house are also located, surrounded by a beautiful, centuries-old native forest park, which makes it part of our National Heritage.

Finally, the vineyards of Palmilla (Colchagua) and Manantiales in the San Antonio Valley are added, thus becoming a Multivalley Winery, with presence in 5 of the best wine valleys in the country. This allows it to have a diversity of varieties and wines, due to the qualities of each of the Appellations of Origin where it is present.
