Owned by the Vildósola Family and located in Alto Maipo, 68 km south of Santiago, Viña Cardonal has been sharing its love and passion for high-quality wine with its select clientele for several years. At Viña Cardonal, we understand that wine is a living being, with a soul, body, and roots, and it is with this understanding that it has been nurtured with passion and dedication.

The character of our wine, forged in the silence of our winery, is the result of the deep connection between the winemaker and the wine. Its taste, texture, color, and brilliance are the hallmark of fertile land, magnificent vines, and the soul of the family that brought it to life with their experience and wisdom.

A key factor in the quality of our fine wines is the Mediterranean climate, which has temperature variations between day and night that can reach up to 20°C in summer. These dry summers, typical of the region, favor the healthy maturation of the grapes.

An efficient irrigation system optimizes and leverages the many virtues of the Maipo River's waters, particularly the Estero del Inca, which originates from the ancient glaciers of the majestic Andes Mountains. This enriches the soil, allowing for the creation of fine wines.

When the grapes have reached their optimal ripeness, the harvest is done by hand, a gentle process that aligns with our commitment to quality.

As we can see, the climate, geography, and human effort have combined their best qualities with cutting-edge technology, allowing us to cultivate a wide range of grape varieties with great character and quality. Our wines—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Carménère, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer—reflect this commitment.

Viña Cardonal has developed a premium wine with its Cabernet Sauvignon variety: Reserva Cardonal. This wine is characterized by prominent red fruit flavors intermingled with vanilla and clove, imparted by aging in French oak barrels. It is a wine with character, a velvety body, and a long, pleasant finish on the palate, delighting us with all the expression and elegance of an Alto Maipo wine.

“Cosecha de Hermanos” was awarded the “Silver Medal at CATAD'OR-HYATT 2005.” It is a blended wine where the synergy between Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc intensely expresses aromas of ripe red fruits, dried plums, and meaty characteristics. This aromatic complexity is also reflected in an exquisite palate, displaying a medium body and a long, captivating finish.

Finally, our varietal line, called Don Carlos in honor of the winery's founder, delights us with its Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carménère, and Chardonnay varieties. These wines exhibit harmony in color, aroma, and flavor, surprising us with their excellent reception, which continues to captivate more connoisseurs both in Chile and abroad, making them the gateway to the homes of many of our current customers.
