Limarí Valley Wine

THE WINERY

Viña Ochotierras is a limited production winery located in the heart of the Limarí Valley, whose history begins in 1993, when we planted the first vineyards of fine grapes. Since then we began our work as winemakers and since 2005 we make our own unique wines practically by hand and under the highest standards of enological quality.

We have a winery equipped with small ponds that was designed to minimize the use of pumps and together with the demanding winemaking process (harvest, selection and manual pressing), allows us to make wines with character, transferring the essence of the terroir to each bottle.

Our grape varieties are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Syrah.


LIMARI VALLEY
It is located 400 km north of Santiago, in the Coquimbo Region. It is a semi-arid zone, with low rainfall (less than 100 mm per year), high luminosity and mineral soils. Its climate is strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean, due to the presence of “la Camanchaca”, cold fog that creeps in from the west every morning towards the interior of the valley and withdraws at midday when one of the brightest skies in the world is visible. The combination of cold mornings, high luminosity and mineral soils give the wines a unique character of freshness, minerality and elegance.
